First Aid

  • First Aid is the help you give to someone who is hurt or sick before professional medical help arrives.
  • It helps to prevent the injury or illness from getting worse.
  • It can save lives by providing immediate care.
  • Assess the situation: Make sure the area is safe for both you and the injured person.
  • Call for help: If needed, call emergency services or an adult for assistance.
  • Stay calm: Keep the injured person calm and try not to panic.
  • Cuts and Scrapes: Clean the wound with water, and apply a bandage.
  • Bruises: Apply a cold pack or cloth to reduce swelling.
  • Burns: Run the burn under cold water and cover it with a clean cloth.
  • Sprains: Rest the injured part, apply ice, and elevate the limb.
  • If the injury is serious, like a deep cut, broken bone, or if the person has trouble breathing.
  • A first aid kit should include bandages, antiseptic wipes, gauze, scissors, and a cold pack.
  • Always wear gloves if available and try to avoid touching blood or bodily fluids.
  • First Aid is for minor injuries. Always seek medical help if the injury is severe.
