The Excretory System
Key Notes :

What is the Excretory System?
- The excretory system is a group of organs that help our bodies get rid of waste and unwanted materials.
Why Do We Need It?
- Our bodies produce waste from the food we eat and the activities we do. Removing waste is essential to keep our bodies clean and healthy.
Main Organs Involved:
- Kidneys: Two bean-shaped organs that filter blood to remove waste and extra water, forming urine.

- Ureters: Tubes that carry urine from the kidneys to the bladder.

- Bladder: A sac-like organ that stores urine until it is ready to be released from the body.

- Urethra: The tube through which urine leaves the body.
How Does It Work?
- The kidneys filter out waste and extra water from the blood.
- This waste turns into urine, which travels down the ureters to the bladder.
- The bladder stores urine until it’s full, and then the urine is expelled from the body through the urethra.
Importance of Drinking Water:

- Drinking plenty of water helps the kidneys function properly and keeps the excretory system healthy.
- Water helps to flush out waste more efficiently.
Fun Fact:
- The kidneys filter about 50 gallons of blood each day!
Healthy Habits for a Strong Excretory System:
- Drink enough water daily.
- Eat healthy foods like fruits and vegetables.
- Avoid too much junk food, which can make the kidneys work harder.
