The Circulatory System
Key Notes :

What is the Circulatory System?
- The circulatory system is like a transportation system in our body. It moves blood, oxygen, and nutrients to every part of our body.
Main Parts of the Circulatory System
- Heart: The heart is a strong muscle that pumps blood throughout the body.

- Blood Vessels: These are like tiny tubes that carry blood. There are three main types:

- Arteries: Carry oxygen-rich blood away from the heart.
- Veins: Bring blood back to the heart.
- Capillaries: Very tiny vessels where the exchange of oxygen, nutrients, and waste happens.
How the Heart Works

- The heart has four chambers: two on the top (called atria) and two on the bottom (called ventricles).
- It pumps blood to the lungs to get oxygen, then sends this oxygen-rich blood to the rest of the body.
Blood

- Blood carries oxygen and nutrients to the cells and removes waste products like carbon dioxide.
- It also helps fight infections and keeps us healthy.
Why the Circulatory System is Important

- It provides the body with the oxygen and nutrients needed to survive.
- It helps remove waste products from the body.
Fun Facts
- The heart beats about 60-100 times per minute.
- An average adult has about 5 liters of blood in their body.
- Blood travels through the entire circulatory system in about one minute!
How to Keep Your Circulatory System Healthy
- Eat healthy foods like fruits, vegetables, and whole grains.
- Exercise regularly to keep the heart strong.
- Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated.
- Avoid too much junk food and sugary drinks.
