Force And Energy

  • Force is a push or a pull on an object.
  • It can make things start moving, stop moving, change direction, or change shape.
  • Push – Moves something away from you.
    Example: Pushing a swing.
  • Pull – Brings something toward you.
    Example: Pulling a door open.
  • Gravity – A force that pulls everything down to the ground.
  • Friction – A force that slows things down when they rub together.
  • Energy is what makes things move or work.
  • We need energy to run, jump, play, and even think!
  • Light Energy – Comes from the sun or bulbs.
  • Heat Energy – Comes from fire, stoves, or the sun.
  • Sound Energy – Comes from music, talking, or banging drums.
  • Moving Energy (Kinetic) – Energy of moving things.
  • To ride a bicycle
  • To turn on lights
  • To cook food
  • To watch TV
  • When you kick a ball (force), the ball moves (uses energy).
  • When you turn on a fan, electric energy turns into moving air.

  • Without force and energy, nothing would move or happen around us!
