A.M. or P.M.

A.M. means“Ante Meridiem” (Before Noon)

  • This is the time from midnight (12:00 a.m.) to noon (11:59 a.m.).

P.M. means“Post Meridiem” (After Noon)

  • This is the time from noon (12:00 p.m.) to midnight (11:59 p.m.).

  • If it’s morning, it’s A.M.
  • If it’s afternoon, evening, or night, it’s P.M.
  • 12:00 noon is the middle of the day → P.M. starts
