Understanding Division
- Division is splitting a number into equal parts.
- It is the opposite of multiplication.
Division Facts for 2
- A number divided by 2 means splitting it into two equal groups.
- Example: 10 ÷ 2 = 5
- Even numbers are always divisible by 2.
Division Facts for 3
- A number divided by 3 means splitting it into three equal groups.
- Example: 9 ÷ 3 = 3
- If the sum of the digits of a number is a multiple of 3, it is divisible by 3.
