📝 Identify Articles
What are Articles?
Articles are special words that come before nouns to tell us which one or how many.
There are three articles in English:
- a 🟢
- an 🔵
- the 🟡
Types of Articles
Indefinite Articles – a and an
- Use a 🟢 before words that begin with a consonant sound.
- Example: a 🟢 cat 🐱, a 🟢 book 📖
- Use an 🔵 before words that begin with a vowel sound (a, e, i, o, u).
- Example: an 🔵 apple 🍎, an 🔵 elephant 🐘
Definite Article – the 🟡
- Use the 🟡 when we talk about a specific person, place, or thing.
- Example: the 🟡 sun 🌞, the 🟡 school 🏫
Tips to Remember Articles ✨
