Identify verbs in the regular past tense

🌟 Identify Verbs in the Regular Past Tense 🌟

👉 A verb is an action word – it tells what someone does or what happens.

  • Examples: 🏃 run, 🎨 paint, 🍴 eat

👉 Past tense means the action already happened.

  • Examples: Yesterday, last week, long ago.

👉 Regular verbs make their past tense by adding –ed.

Examples:

  • walk → walked 🚶
  • jump → jumped 🤸
  • play → played ⚽
  • paint → painted 🎨

1️⃣ Just add –ed:

  • 👉 call → called 📞

2️⃣ Drop e + add –d:

  • 👉 dance → danced 💃

3️⃣ Change y → ied:

  • 👉 carry → carried 👜

Sentence:

She played with her doll. 🧸

  • 👉 “played” is the past tense verb.

They jumped on the trampoline. 🤸

  • 👉 “jumped” is the past tense verb.

💡 If the verb ends with –ed, it usually shows regular past tense!

✨🎉 Remember: Regular past tense verbs are easy! Just look for the –ed ending!
