  • Personal pronouns are words that take the place of a noun in a sentence. They are used to refer to people, animals, or things without using their names.
  • Personal pronouns can be either subject pronouns (used as the subject of a sentence) or object pronouns (used as the object of a sentence).

  1. Subject Pronouns (used to do the action):
  • I, you, he, she, it, we, they
  • Examples:
    • I am going to school.”
    • She is reading a book.”
  1. Object Pronouns (receive the action):
  • me, you, him, her, it, us, them
  • Examples:
    • “The teacher called me.”
    • “We gave the gift to her.”

  • Subject Pronoun Example:
  • They are playing soccer.”
  • In this sentence, they is the subject (who is playing).
  • Object Pronoun Example:
  • “Mom gave me a cookie.”
  • In this sentence, me is the object (who receives the cookie).

  1. Use subject pronouns when the pronoun is doing the action.
  • Example: “He likes ice cream.”
  1. Use object pronouns when the pronoun is receiving the action.
  • Example: “The teacher gave her a book.”

  1. (I/Me) went to the park.”
    Correct: I (subject pronoun)
  2. “She helped (I/me) with my homework.”
    Correct: me (object pronoun)
  3. “They invited (we/us) to the party.”
    Correct: us (object pronoun)
