- Plural Nouns: Refer to more than one person, place, thing, or idea. Usually formed by adding -s or -es to the singular noun.
- Example: cats, books, houses
Identifying Singular Possessives
- Singular Possessive Nouns: Show ownership or relationship by adding an apostrophe and -s (‘s) to a singular noun.
- Example:
- The cat’s toy (The toy belonging to one cat)
- Sarah’s book (The book belonging to Sarah)
- Example:
Identifying Plural Possessives
- Plural Possessive Nouns: Show ownership or relationship by adding an apostrophe after the -s to a plural noun that already ends in -s, or by adding an apostrophe and -s to plural nouns that do not end in -s.
- Example:
- The cats’ toys (The toys belonging to multiple cats)
- The children’s toys (The toys belonging to multiple children)

Forming Possessive Nouns
- For Singular Nouns: Add ‘s.
- Example: The dog’s bone (bone belonging to one dog)
- For Plural Nouns Ending in -s: Add only an apostrophe.
