📝 Order the Words to Create a Sentence

A sentence is a group of words that tells a complete thought.

  • Example: 🌞 The sun is shining.
  • It starts with a capital letter 🅰️ and ends with a full stop (.), question mark (?), or exclamation mark (!).

1. Find the Subject 👦👧🐶

  • The subject tells us who or what the sentence is about.
  • Example: dog, Ali, The children

2. Find the Verb 🏃‍♂️✏️

  • The verb tells us what the subject does or what happens.
  • Example: runs, eats, is playing

3. Find the Object/Complement 🍎🎁

  • The object tells who or what receives the action.
  • Example: the ball, an apple, a gift

4. Put Words in the Right Order 🔢

Example:

  • Words: cake / eats / Sara
  • Sentence: Sara eats cake. 🍰

  • Always start with a capital letter 🅰️.
  • Always end with punctuation (. ? !) 🛑
  • Ask yourself: Who? What? Did what? 🤔
  • Read aloud 👄 to check if it makes sense.

1. Words: playing / The / children / park / in / are

  • Sentence: The children are playing in the park. 🏞️👫

2. Words: eats / morning / breakfast / My / in / sister

  • Sentence: My sister eats breakfast in the morning. 🍳🥛

3. Words: is / reading / book / The / Rohan

  • Sentence: Rohan is reading the book. 📖
  • Take a set of mixed words. ✂️
  • Try to make as many correct sentences as you can. ✅
  • Draw a small emoji for each word to make it fun and colourful. 🌈
