What Are Ordinal Numbers?

📌 Ordinal numbers show the position or order of things in a list.

👉 They tell us “which one”:
1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th… up to 100th

🗣️ Example

• “Riya came 1st in the race.”
• “My birthday is on the 25th of August.”
• “The school is on the 10th street.”

🔢 Ordinal Number List (1st to 20th)

💯 Ordinal Numbers to 100th

🔢 Just like counting numbers, we can write ordinal numbers up to 100th.

Examples:

• 21st → Twenty-first
• 32nd → Thirty-second
• 43rd → Forty-third
• 55th → Fifty-fifth
• 100th → One hundredth

💡 Tip:
📌 Use st for numbers ending in 1 → 21st
📌 Use nd for numbers ending in 2 → 42nd
📌 Use rd for numbers ending in 3 → 93rd
📌 Use th for all others → 24th, 55th, 100th
